Sara began teaching yoga in 2002 and has taught well over 4,000 hours of classes and workshops worldwide. Sara teaches weekly classes at Yoga Del Mar and Pacific Athletic Club in addition to her private clients.
Sara is an E-RYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) with the International Yoga Alliance Organization for Yoga. Sara’s certification is an Anusara Inspired teacher, which is currently regarded by most in the yoga industry as having among the highest standards of any Hatha yoga school. Sara has also completed Tim Miller’s teacher training coarse in Ashtanga yoga plus a multitude of workshops with other Master teachers.
Sara has her degree in Theatre and Speech Communications from the University of Minnesota. She has taught Acting and Voice to all ages for over twenty years, The Old Globe Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, and Lamb’s Players to name a few.
Sara’s education and experience in acting gives her greater insight to human behavior and how emotions are held in the body. She is able to perceive habits and behaviors that affect not only how one presents themselves to the world and the people around them, but also where habitual patterns are held in the body and how this may effect ones overall health. Sara is able to give her students tools to not only improve their health and well being but also improve confidence, self-awareness and cultivate a more positive self-image.
A student of Vipassana meditation, Sara incorporates the philosophy of being in the moment connected to ones breath and nonjudgmental awareness towards oneself during yoga practice.
